- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Whole wheat buns
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the ground turkey over medium heat until browned.
- Add onion and bell pepper, and sauté until soft.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve mixture on whole wheat buns.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add jalapeños.
- Use lean ground beef if preferred.
- Can be served with a side salad.
