Ingredients

- 500g ground beef
- 250g elbow macaroni
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 400g canned tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup grated cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions, then drain.
- In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until soft.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in canned tomatoes, tomato paste, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Layer half the macaroni in a baking dish.
- Add the meat mixture on top of the macaroni.
- Top with the remaining macaroni and sprinkle with grated cheese.
- Bake for 30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add chili flakes.
- This dish can be prepared a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
- Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
